What made it hard

Keating had check-raised the flop and checked the turn, and when Brandon Steven bet $55,000 on the river, Keating check-raised again, to $150,000. Brandon Steven's three queens with a ten kicker were ahead of a weaker queen, two pair and any missed draw, and behind ace-queen, king-queen or any full house. Calling meant putting $95,000 more into a pot of $277,000, out of the $178,000 he had left, with nobody else in the hand.
